La Nina update

CPC has issued its October ENSO advisory and is now predicting La Nina conditions to persist through at least spring 2011.  Skiers in BC and the PacNW rejoice!  As discussed in an earlier post, the ENSO cycle does not strongly weight the snow odds for the Wasatch, so we'll just have to see how this winter ends up for us.

  1. Yes! I can finally post! So yesterday I did a reanalysis composite of the past 9 winters where we have been in a moderate to strong La Nina. Like you said, it definitely seems that the PNW will get hammered! Also if one doesn't like cold weather go out east because anything east of the Rockies looks to have a decent warm bias this winter.
