An Early Start to July

Yesterday's high at the Salt Lake City International Airport was 90.  The NWS forecast for today is also 90 and every day through next Sunday has forecast highs in the 90s.

These are July-like highs, although the nighttime mins in the 60s may make things a bit more tolerable.

That said, I'm not a fan of long stretches of July-like weather in June.  It often makes summer unbearably long.  Let's hope the latter half of the month is cooler.

  1. Hopefully the early heat helps bring a real monsoon season this year. Unfortunately, hot June has become normal

    2. The idea that things will eventually average out only applies if the mean is not changing. In other words, if the climate is stationary.

Although one can't rule out below average temps in July, the odds are weighted toward above average. Basically, the climate dice in the Salt Lake Valley are not evenly balanced. They are loaded.

  3. Ewww….hot in the mountains too, and not much water, if only someone had predicted this possible outcome?
