The UAC reports this morning that the snow density during yesterday's storm decreased from 12% yesterday to 8% overnight. Thus, our forecast for a right side up snowfall for your skiing pleasure today appears to have verified nicely.
Will the yo-yo rebound? Well we're still on track for rapid warming today and tonight with the 700-mb temperatures increasing from -9C to -1C. The models are not quite as wet today, however, so perhaps we won't see a lot of high density snow falling overnight, which might help keep the riding conditions good in places where the wind hasn't gone too wild.
The ridge is building in rapidly tonight and tomorrow, so I'm hoping to see the sun make a much needed appearance tomorrow, even in the valley.
