Here We Go Again

Like a bad habit that won't go away, we're going right back into large-scale northwesterly flow with warmer temperatures and stronger winds.  Honk if you are sick of this pattern!!!

The 1200 UTC 4 Feb 2011 GFS forecast tells the tale.  By tomorrow morning (1200 UTC 4 Feb) we're in strong northwesterly flow and its snowing, but at -6C.  Not real warm, but not cold either.

By Sunday afternoon (0000 UTC 6 Feb) we're still in northwesterly flow, are hanging at -6C, but are now in warm advection.

The good news is we're going to get some snow out of this, but I wish we could get a bonafide trough passage with decreasing temperatures and a good 18 inches of right-side-up snow.
