More Shadowing Effects

Continuing our discussion of the previous post, check out the incredible precipitation shadow in the Park City area (denoted by box)

and the contrast between the Park City and Alta web cams.

A shallow storm often means limited spillover from the windward to leeward side of a mountain range, and that's precisely what has happened today.  They'll get a few flakes in the next hour or two, but that's it, leading to a huge contrast in precipitation as one moves from the Cottonwood Canyons, across the Park City ridge line, and to Park City and the Snyderville Basin.
