The big news this morning is that the Alta-Collins snow stake hit the magic 100" barrier last night.
It has since settled back to 99", but we'll take it. It took an extra leap day for it to happen in February, which is far too late for my liking, but it's good to see us in triple digits as spring approaches. We have a storm total in the double digits as well, which means the second deep powder day of the week based on my 10" standard.
Better late . . .
ReplyDeleteDr Jim. Looking at forecast and radar...perhaps a free refill tonight:)
ReplyDeleteYup, some cold-smoke would be a nice way to cap off the first storm-cycle of the year.
DeleteWhat was the bar last year at this time? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteCLN snowdepth on 2 March 2011 was about 145 inches.
DeleteBase, excuse autocorrect!
ReplyDeleteDr. Jim,
ReplyDelete*3* Deep powder days this week by your standard and I didn't even get to ski a single one. As a graduate student some weeks are busy and some aren't so busy. I guess I just got a little unlucky. Going to have to fight the crowds on Saturday and Sunday.
I haven't skied either! I was in the parking lot before a tour on Wednesday and my back went into spasms. Never had that happen before. I've had to lay low since. Purgatory!
