I love it when a band comes together!
It is now raining or snowing across much of the Salt Lake Valley, with the white stuff beginning to stick in the upper Avenues.
Thanks to the marathon efforts of our friends from the Center for Severe Weather Research (especially Ab), we picked up the Doppler on Wheels (DOW) in Tooele at about 8 PM and our team deployed immediately to our SR-111 observing site. We now have data flowing in from this storm. So psyched.
Looks like a few hours of examining the frontal band and orographic precipitation processes are guaranteed. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll see the lake get going thereafter.
