A
great new web cam has been installed at the Neil Armstrong Academy that has a great view of the central Wasatch. Here's a couple of hours of animation from this afternoon.
I'm pretty excited about this development as we will finally have high resolution (time and space) resolution movies for examining the development of clouds and precipitation in the central Wasatch. Essentially, there will be no reason to work on storm days next winter!
I have always thought it would be cool to have several different hi-res cameras pointed at the same general area (such as that portion of the Wasatch for example) from different directions. For example if you had one on the Park City side looking west, one in Utah County looking north or one up north somewhere looking south. Plus there are already cameras at the ski areas. Then you could set up a web page with all different views of the same area side by side. Just an idea.
