Today will be lovely in the Salt Lake Valley with temperatures well into the 60s and even mountain-top temperatures unseasonably mild with 700-mb temperatures near +6ºC.
Contrast the NAM forecast for this afternoon (above) with the one below for 1500 UTC (0800 MST) tomorrow when the polar express arrives and a stiff north wind is blowing with 700-mb temperatures of -8ºC.
Yup, change is coming in the form of the polar express and we're in for a dramatic cool down when the front comes through tomorrow morning.
