we anticipated earlier this month, the National Climatic Data Center reports that that 2012 was the warmest year in the instrumented record in Utah (and the US).

I always say go big or go home. NCDC calls this year at 51.6ºF, which tops 1934 by 0.3ºF. As can be seen above, the last year below the long-term average in Utah was 1993. This is not your grandfather's climate anymore.
