Sea Ice Record Broken

Realclimate.org reports this morning, based on data from the National Snow and Ice Data Center, that we are now in record territory for minimum Arctic sea-ice extent.

With a couple of weeks until the mean climatological minimum in sea-ice extent, it looks like 2012 will set quite a standard.
