Over the past couple of hours, the event has transitioned into broad area coverage that is presently confined to the southeast of the Great Salt Lake. Precip rates are weak in the valleys (virga or light snow), with mountain snowshowers.
The Mesowest surface plot shows SW flow at Hat Island, W at Gunnison Island, and WNW at Promontory Point. At 7 AM, the flow remained westerly on Mt. Baldy.
We just can't get the flow around to NW, which is too bad as perhaps this would have been a stronger event in the valleys if we had a bit more lake modification.
