The snow in the Wasatch backcountry today looked "tired and spent." There were some good turns out there in settled powder, but also a multitude of crusts and wind-affected surfaces. The 14-day snow totals from the National Weather Service Salt Lake City Forecast office pretty much sums things up. Other than a fortuitous and fairly localized 14" in upper Little Cottonwood Canyon on 1 Feb, snowfalls have been meager at best.

On the other hand, we still have a healthy snowpack statewide, although there are a number of SNOTEL sites now falling back to 90-110% (green) or 110-125% (light blue) of average.
A good snowstorm would be greatly appreciated!
