From 2001...In general I second the comments above.

From 2001-2013 warming was about at 1/4 the are predicted by the models.

However there was an abrupt warming from 2014-2016 and subsequent years have maintained that higher level.

So now 2001-2020 actual warming is about 85% of projected, certainly close enough to take the subject seriously.

But snowfall still shows no decline at western ski area elevations over the past 40 years. It is correct to focus upon rain vs. snow and there are some locations at marginal elevation in the Pacific States where that ratio is deteriorating gradually. But at Intermountain and Continental climate ski areas it still rains once in a blue moon so we are decades away from material change in snowfall at those places.Tony Crockerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13361506562454466953noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6168620747792092240.post-40085376943110669922020-11-24T07:54:53.452-07:002020-11-24T07:54:53.452-07:00The models have consistently run a hot bias of 2 t...The models have consistently run a hot bias of 2 to one and have stubbornly not been adjusted to match observed reality. Regional climate variations have defied attempts to model. The RCP8.5 scenario is absurd.

Bottom line... the earth is warming slowly due to GHGs but there has been no observed drop in Western USA snowfall. I wouldn't be surprised to see MORE snow in the future although spring will come earlier and low elevations will be a bit more difficult to maintain spring snow cover.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6168620747792092240.post-81207519929670966652013-08-08T16:52:55.448-06:002013-08-08T16:52:55.448-06:00Too bad there is no correlation between CO2 and gl...Too bad there is no correlation between CO2 and global temperatures.
